Harpoon Munich Type Dark
by Jacob Aaron Konick

What Jew really likes anything from Munich?  Generally, I don't like anything from Bavaria, and I don't care for dark beer whatever its national origin. However, Harpoon Munich Type Dark breaks the Nuremburg mold.  Dark, nutty, but not overpowering.  It tastes like a porter, but drinks like a lager.  Maybe that's because it's actually made in Boston.

It also might have to do with it’s medium-hops finish. I can't much say I care for Boston much more than I care for Germany.  But if they can take a Bavarian-style dark beer, and turn it into an American-friendly draught, in this instance I say more power to them.  Perfect for a mid-afternoon lamb lunch, or perhaps a mid-morning cheese plate.  Munich Style!
